Micromax launches Yu Yuphoria in India at Rs 6999: Snapdragon 410, 5-inch display, Cyanogen OS 12 and more!

Micromax’s subsidiary brand Yu has launched the all new Yuphoria, a successor to the Yureka in India. Priced at Rs 6,999, it’s the company’s second Cyanogen-based smartphone and claims to bring features seen in a flagship device at an affordable price.
The smartphone sports a 5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1080 pixels resolution with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Yu Yuphoria smartphone comes with metal body. Yu’s Co-founder and CEO Rahul Sharma revealed the metal stamping process for the phone and physical vapour deposition used for the multi-colour along with polishing and anti-fingerprint coating. The device promises better grip and a flagship feel.


It runs Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12. It comes with an app themer that allows users to customise the look and feel of the device. Also, users can expect a Truecaller integrated dialler.



The device is 8.25mm in thickness and weighs 143 grams. Under the hood, it gets a true 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 2GB RAM. It also gets 16GB onboard storage. The dual SIM smartphone supports most sensors found in flagship devices. It also supports Bluetooth and 4G LTE.
The device is designed by Yu and is assembled in India. Initial few batches will come from the factories, but the rest will be from India. It will be available in steel with Buffed black and Champagne gold with white.
On the camera front, the device sports an 8MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. For audio, it gets Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo chip. A 2230 mAh battery completes the package. It also features the Quick charge ability seen mostly in high-end phones.
